To the left you will see a photograph of a 3D object that I designed and created with the help of Christopher Woodall at Salisbury University. The 3D object that I have created is a twenty-sided die, with a different double consonant blend on each side. I chose this object because within my fieldwork hours I have seen a lot of work done with the students with the double consonant blends but yet some of the students still struggle with this portion of writing. Within my classroom, I will use this as a center/rotation activity. The students will roll the die three times, each time writing three words that start with the double consonant blend that they rolled. They may also use this in any of their free time if they wish. This will help students to start thinking about and writing these blends within words, which will then help them with automaticity throughout their reading. This experience has taught me that I am more than capable of bringing an idea to life in order to better serve my students. Learning how to navigate through the TinkerCad website will be so beneficial to me as a teacher because I will be able to create and build certain objects that either myself or my students need in order to succeed.
